Spring Onion Pakora / Indian Appetizer - Sousa's Kitchen

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ½ Cups Channa / Gram Flour
  • ½ Cup Rice Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 3 Cups Chopped Spring Onions
  • 1 Green Chilly
  • 1 Small Onion
  • ½ Tsp Black Pepper
  • ¼ Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ½ Tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ Tsp Cumin Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste

Method
  1. Add the Rice Flour into the bowl with the Channa / Gram Flour, then mix together. Then add the Cornstarch into the bowl and mix.
  2. Next add, Black pepper, Salt, Turmeric Powder, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, and Baking Soda, and mix together. 
  3. In another bowl add the spring onions and then add the chopped onions, chilies, and ginger garlic place. Then mix it all together.
  4. Slowly add the flour into the bowl with the onions and mix together. 
  5. Next, slowly add some water to the mixture and mix while adding water. 
  6. Cover and let it rest for 15 - 20 minutes. 
  7. Preheat some oil to 350º F and using a spoon add the batter into the oil carefully.
  8. Cook until both sides are golden brown and then remove and place into a strainer. Repeat as needed.
  9. Serve Hot with Ketchup or any Sauce of your preference, and Enjoy!
