Easy made Goan Traditional Doce in microwave | Christmas Sweet | - Sousa's Kitchen

 


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 Cup Chana Dal / Split Grain
  • 3 Cups Grated Coconut
  • 3 Cups Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 tsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cardomon Powder
  • 3 Cups Water

Method
  1. Soak the Chana Dal / Split Grain in water overnight
  2. Add the Chana Dal / Split Grain into a Pressure cooker and add the water. Cook for 3 Whistles
  3. Pour into a bowl and let it cool down. 
  4. Add the Chana Dal / Split Grain into a blender and blend until smooth. 
  5. Add the Grated Coconut and continue to blend until smooth. 
  6. Pour into a microwave safe bowl. Then add the Sugar and mix together by hand. 
  7. Microwave for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove from the microwave, stir and place back in for another 10 minutes. Repeat this step 3 times. 
  8. On the 3rd time add the Ghee / Clarified Butter, and the Cardomon Powder. 
  9. Remove from the microwave and transfer on a piece of parchment paper. 
  10. Using a spatula, spread it evenly across the paper. Then use a rolling pin in smooth it out. 
  11. Using a Fork, add a design. Then using a knife, cut into diamond shaped. 
  12. Serve and Enjoy!
