Crispy and Flakey Goan Christmas Angel Wings - Sousa's Kitchen

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • 3/4 Cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • 3 Tbsp Corn Starch

Method
  1. Add Salt and Flour together and mix together, then add into the mixer
  2. Set aside 1/4 cup of powered sugar for dusting later and pour the rest into the mixer. Mix together
  3. Add the Ghee and the vanilla Extract.
  4. Start the mixer and slowly add the water. Add water as needed to form dough. After the dough is formed add a wet paper towel on top and let it rest for 30 minutes. 
  5. Combine the butter and the cornstarch into a bowl and mix until smooth. 
  6. Add the dough to the workstation and knead it with flour. Grab 2 handfuls of dough and using a rolling pin flatten them out. 
  7. After flattening both pieces of the dough add the butter mixture to the second piece and add the first piece on top. 
  8. Roll both pieces and cut into 1/2 inch pieces. 
  9. Heat up oil on medium heat and add the angel wings into the oil. Cook about 1 minute per side or until golden brown. 
  10. After golden brown, remove from the oil and place in a plate with a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Then powder both sides with sugar.
  11. Serve and Enjoy!!
