Easy Classic Family Size Shepherd's Pie - Sousa's Kitchen


 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 tsp Black Pepper 
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Thyme
  • 1 Tbsp Rosemary
  • 4 Tbsp Oil
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Cup Tomato Paste
  • 1 Cup Celery
  • 3 lbs Lamb Ground Meat
  • 1 Cup Tomato
  • 4 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 3 Cups of carrots and Peas
  • 8 cups of Potato Flakes
  • 3 Egg Yokes
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese

Method
  1. In a pot over medium head add 2 tbsp of oil. Then add ground Lamb Meat and using a spoon, break the big chunks
  2. Add the Salt, Ground Pepper, and Mix together
  3. Add the meat to a strainer to remove any excess grease. 
  4. In a pot over medium heat add the remainder of the oil, then add the onion and tomatoes and mix together. 
  5. Add salt, Ginger Garlic Paste, and mix.
  6. Add the Ground Lamb Meat and mix together. 
  7. Add in the chicken broth and stir. Then add the Tomato Paste and mix together. 
  8. Add 1 Cup of water, Celery, Carrots, and Peas and mix everything together. 
  9. Add the Sugar, Ground pepper, Thyme, and Rosemary and mix together. 
  10. Add the Flour and Mix. 
  11. In a separate pot add the water, then add the milk, and the stick of butter. Let the butter melt completely. 
  12. After the butter melts completely, turn the heat to low and add the Potato Flakes. Mix together until mashed potato consistency. Then add 3 egg yolks and continue mixing. Add the Cheese and mix. 
  13. Start off by adding a layer of mashed potatoes in your pan, then add a layer of the lamb mince, and then add another layer of Mashed Potatoes. 
  14. Using a fork make straight lines on the top of the dish.
  15. Preheat your oven to 425º F. Place the Pie in the oven and cook for 30 minutes at 425º F.
  16. Cut, Serve Hot with any sauce and Enjoy!
