Traditional Beef and Pork Goan Stew - Sousa’s Kitchen

 


INGREDIENTS

  • 6 Pieces of Bacon
  • 4 carrots
  • 200 g Elbows
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 1/2 cup Green Peas
  • 3 Medium Potatoes
  • 1 lb / 1/2 Kg Pork Belly
  • 1 lb / 1/2 Kg beef
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 20 Cloves
  • 1 green chili
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 3 tsp Salt
  • 2 Maggie Cubes
  • 6 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 4 Pieces Cinnamon Sticks

Method
  1. In a pot over medium heat add in the beef and pork. Add 1 tsp of Salt and 3 tsp of Ginger Garlic Paste, and Mix together. 
  2. Add 3 cups of water, and mix together. 
  3. Cover and cook until the meat is tender.
  4. In a separate pot over medium heat, add the Carrots, Potatoes, 1 tsp Salt, and 2 cups of water, and mix. Then cover and cook for 15 minutes. 
  5. Remove carrots and potatoes after cooking into a separate bowl.
  6. In a pot of boiling water, add the macaroni elbows, 1 tsp salt, and oil. Cover and cook for 15 - 20 minutes. 
  7. After the macaroni elbows is done cooking, strain it into a separate bowl.
  8. In a pot over medium heat, add oil and butter. Then add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and mix together. 
  9. Add in the Onions and Sauté until golden brown. Then add the bacon, tomatoes, and mix together, and cook for 5 minutes.
  10. Add in the green chili, Ginger Garlic Paste, and the Maggie Cubes, then add the Green Peas.
  11. Then add the beef and pork into the pot with the rest of the ingredients and mix together. 
  12. Then add the potatoes and Carrots, and mix together.
  13. Then add the macaroni elbows and mix together. 
  14. Serve and Enjoy!
