Healthy Jeera/ Cumin Rice With Vegetables - Sousa's Kitchen


  

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Cups Rice
  • 1 Cup Mixed Vegetables
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Stick Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Ginger Paste
  • 10 Peppercorn
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • 10 Cloves
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 2 Tbsp Oil


Method
  1. Wash the rice in a bowl until the water you add is clear, and soak the rice for 10 minutes. 
  2. In a pot over high heat add the ghee, oil, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves, peppercorn, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, mixed vegetables, rice, and mix everything together. 
  3. Continue to cook, and stir occasionally. 
  4. Add 6 cups of hot water and stir. Add Salt, and cover the pot and let it cook for 15 minutes or until water evaporates on medium heat. Uncover and Stir occasionally. Cover and continue to cook.
  5. Turn off the heat, uncover, and stir the rice. 
  6. With the heat turned off, and keep covered for 10 - 15 minutes.
  7. Serve and Enjoy!
