Goan Beef Roast | Authentic Goan Beef | Pot Roast - Sousa's Kitchen


 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1⁄2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Pepper Power
  • 1⁄2 tsp Meat Tenderizer
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 lbs / 1 Kg Beef Top Round Roast
  • 3 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Jaggery
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1⁄2 tsp Clove Powder
  • 1⁄2 tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1⁄2 tsp Salt
  • 5 Small Chilies
  • 1 Big Onion


Method
  1. In a bowl add the beef pieces, then using a fork, tenderize the beef.
  2. Add the salt, Ginger Garlic Paste, Pepper, Turmeric Powder, Cinnamon Powder, Clove Powder, Meat Tenderizer, Cumin Powder, Vinegar, Jaggery, and mix everything together. 
  3. In a pot over Medium heat, add Oil, then add in the beef pieces. Add some oil and flip the beef to avoid burning. Continue to cook for 20 minutes, then remove in a separate plate.
  4. In the same pot, add the remainder of the oil, the chilies, onions, and sauté until golden brown. Then add the beef back into the pot, cover and cook for 10 - 15 minutes.
  5. Uncover the pot and mix. Then turn the heat off and cover for 10 minutes. 
  6. Remove beef pieces and cut into slices, and then place the cut slices back into the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes. 
  7. Serve with rice or bread and Enjoy!
